 What is fly-tipping

Fly-tipping is a very serious problem. The illegal dumping of rubbish is costing tax payers around 100 million pounds in England every year. The local authorities can fine you if you have waste taken away from your property and it is later found to have been dumped illegally. Fly-tipping of rubbish affects local environments, it can contaminate rivers and wildlife and even reduce local house prices.

Help stop fly-tipping

When getting rubbish removed from your premises, always ask to see a copy of the companies waste carriers license. This is a very important document to show that they are properly registered with the environment agency. This will also put your mind at rest that your waste will be disposed of at a licensed transfer station.
